The second floor of 1 Lasam serves as the base of ipohWorld – an education-based, non-profit organisation by Ipoh World Sdn Bhd, which is part of BVH. It was established in 2004 to promote the diverse and rich heritage of Perak, with particular focus on Ipoh and the Kinta Valley.

After taking over the Hakka Tin Miners Club building at No 3, Jalan Bijeh Timah, at Ipoh’s old town, and restoring the mysterious club founded in 1893 by towkay Leong Fee to its former glory, ipohWorld introduced the Han Chin Pet Soo Hakka tin-mining museum to history buffs around the world in 2015.

1 Lasam is ipohWorld’s second exhibition venue. Like the Han Chin Pet Soo, its display at 1 Lasam holds an extensive collection of old-world artefacts, paraphernalia and collectibles that exude charms of a bygone era.
